Belly Dance/MENAHT(Middle Eastern North African Hellenic and Turkish) Transcultural Fusion Dance has as many roots as it has branches. This Intro class is designed to open a doorway into an enormous world of possibilities through movement. We will stick to the basics of posture, isolation, continuous movement, elegant arms, and shimmies!
This class will be offered in MONTHLY SERIES for which you will have to register for individually. Each month will be taught by a different member of the NOLAmazigh Dance Troupe. This rotation of instructors give students the opportunity to hear different descriptions and cues for dance technique, as well as, see the movements on different body types. We are a varied group ranging from under 5 feet to close to 6 feet tall and an array of fabulous body shapes. These moves look different on different people, as it should be, and seeing that is helpful in learning what it should look like on you.
