MENAHT Transcultural Fusion Dance a.k.a. ORIENTALE DANSE a.k.a. BELLY DANCE TECHNIQUE & MORE
MENAHT Dance (Middle Eastern, North African, Hellenic/Greek, & Turkish) has roots in the movements of cultures across North Africa, Egypt, the Persian Gulf and up into the Levantine countries of Turkey and Lebanon. At it’s heart, MENAHT is based a transcultural fusion or the folkloric and social dances from these regions that have inspired the stage, cabaret, restaurant and festival performances that we have known as Orientale Dance, Raks Sharqi, and Belly Dance. The esthetic is based on personal improvisation using isolations, curves, shimmies and undulations.
We offer lessons for all levels from brand new beginners to experienced dancers to take you from the foundations of movement technique through dynamic expression. Private lessons are also available.
