Belly Dance, Middle Eastern Dance, Dans Oriental, Danse de Ventre, Tribal Style Belly Dance, Cabaret Fusion and many more names are given to the dance styles that come out of the music and culture of the Middle East. Belly Dance, in all it's styles, is spiritually grounding, physically rewarding and aesthetically pleasing. It is a graceful artform that builds physical awareness, greater self-confidence and new friendships. Belly Dance is accesible for women (and men) of all ages and sizes. Because the focus of Belly Dance movements is on the torso, the student benefits from proper posture, core strength and love of her belly. Exposing your belly is not required but give it a few classes and you'll be rolling up your shirt to see your movements clearly and true love is not far behind. At the beginner level the various styles are very similar as foundational movements are universal. At Crescent Lotus, we encourage our students to take classes with all of our teachers, in all the styles, until you find the one that works for you. Performance Polishing & Troupe Rehearsal: By Invite Only All Belly Dance classe with Kryss are $15 to Drop In with discounted class cards available for purchase. Tribal Style Dance Intensives with Ali This 8-week session will focus on improvisation in duets, trios, quartets, and chorus work. Our time together will be spent reviewing and creating movements and combinations, learning cues and transitions, understanding how slow and fast movements can blend together, and learning to interpret music effectively to create effective group dynamic. Most importantly, though, we'll dance!
